Every fucking policy in this issue runs on the lie that somebody needs saving from us — kids need saving from their own teachers, women athletes need saving from their own teammates, a small Alberta town needs saving from a strip of paint, Ohio voters need saving from a Democrat's own voting record, and the American public needs saving from reporters asking questions at the White House gate. The saviors never ask the saved, the rot bastards. They never have. They know better, and the fkrs do it anyway, because the "protection" racket is the most profitable goddamn grift in American politics.
So here's where we stand, queer and not, all of us together: the educators have the data, the courts have the Constitution, the repair crews have the wrenches, and a WNBA forward has the nerve. What the other side has is a social-media account, a flyer, a pollster, and a VIN blacklist. That's it. That's their whole damn army — scared people clutching padlocks and paper.
You want to protect women's sports? Buy the fucking ticket. You want to protect kids? Show up at the school board and outvote the book-burners. You want to protect the press? Subscribe to the newsroom he just locked out. You want to protect the planet? Fix the thing instead of feeding it to the smoke in Accra.
They know better. So do we. And we are finished letting the cowards who know better set the terms for the rest of us — every seat, every ballot, every hallway, every gate. Stand up. We're counting who does.
