Imagine if PC was a brand (like Playstation) and you are only allowed one model of the keyboard and one model of the mouse.

Why support me?:
#ActivityPub is nice.
Sometimes feels warm and pleasant. Sometimes feels threatening and aggressive. But it is definitely connecting people!
I already made a video on this topic, previously, but some people prefer a written story.
I have been an early adopter for most of my life. New platforms, new tools, new ways of being online — I was usually there before most people had heard of them. I do not regret any of it. The experience was real and some of it was genuinely good.
I am selling #ThinkPad T480 in good condition, 300€, but I don't know how to ship it elsewhere except in Croatia and Poland via Vinted.
Have you considered playing with virtual machines? Perhaps I can nudge you.

Tomorrow we kick off LPIC-1 (102) — the second year of our #Linux certification journey. Hit Remind me on YouTube so you don't miss the first session.
This year comes with something new: a dedicated homework forum where you can flag anything from the lessons that didn't quite click. The idea is simple — we help each other fill in the gaps, offline, at our own pace.
The forum is free and open to everyone: https://forum.linuxrenaissance.com/c/lpic-1-102/6
Let's Learn Linux: Customize and use the shell environment — Lesson 1/3
I have redesigned my webpage, this is the second Fedi embed test.
This is something personal from about two years ago. I have strong suspicion that lots of you will find it relatable.
I...
My Ubuntu server 26.04 failed to reboot after update.
Customizing and using the shell environment (Lesson 1/3) is now over and the homework is now live on the forum:

Sretan vam dan pobjede nad fašizmom.
This upcoming Sunday I will be kickstarting LIVE #Linux classroom (URL below) guided by Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 course 102.
This is a fresh start in 2026 and on top of my existing students line-up I hope to see new faces (in live chat) as well. I am looking forward to this knowledge exchange.
I will not mind if you boost this in search of people who can benefit. I do this entirely gratis, but I also welcome tips and thanks on https://ko-fi.com/darth

@_aD ah, well it makes sense for their users to move while they can. If it's abandoned it's abandoned - no hard feelings.

@glassblowerscat@wandering.shop @miah@hachyderm.io to be fair I have very little Mac experience (never owned one) so I can't judge 🙃 but I am aware of its underlying components.
I think Mac OS even has official Unix certification, yes?

@Tronadis@pouet.chapril.org @root fossHQ videos are going offline, BTW. I realized I am confusing people with multiple "brands".

@Larvitz@burningboard.net this one is also Q1 but the ultra variant, and X1 carbon Gen 8. The whole thing is a bit high for the wrists.
Edit: Yours appears to be Q3.

@Tronadis@pouet.chapril.org @root I actually have no clue what to do with that domain. I figured I would use it for community, like not just for myself but for something larger than me. At this moment I lack good ideas.

@Larvitz Thanks. I know that lower res screen can do longer on battery, but I am unsure how much longer. 10 hours would be a dream.

@tina@mastodon.babb.no @mattesilver@101010.pl @bgrinter@mastodon.sdf.org @drahardja@sfba.social I have a smarwatch that I no longer use. It causes more damage to me than it helps with health checks. It took me a bit of time to get rid of it because I used to check ECG a lot (I have arythmia sometimes) but I feel better now without the watch.
As you said, it is a matter of choice and my choice was to not wear it.
My sudo on Fedora 44 lags half a minute.
Replying to
@Larvitz@burningboard.net which T14s is that? It seems to be a newer variant, considering 16:10 screen.
What is truly missing on #Linux?
Replying to
@Larvitz gen4 amd is precisely the model I was thinking about for the past week. It seems to be a very nice sweet spot of just about everything.

@magical_cat @wafflesies@infosec.exchange to be fair I play most of my PC games with a controller. But I like this freedom of choice where I don’t get told which input I am restricted to. Or, God forbid, which framerate I am restricted to.
