🚨Make your voices heard & #KILLTHECOOKIEBANNER. 🍪 The European Commission wants to remove the ANNOYING COOKIE BANNER,, but of course Google is lobbying against this. 🍪🙄 Worryingly, EU Member States like Germany and France also want to keep it. WHY? Tech Giants like Google make HUGE profits tracking you, so of course they don't want it to be easier for you to not consent. 😡 Say no here → https://killthecookiebanner.eu/take-action/ Find out more → https://tuta.com/blog/why-eu-member-states-and-google-want-to-keep-cookie-banner #DigitalOmnibus #EU #Google #BigTech

The IT company Mullvad's founder Daniel Berntsson is behind a huge donation to the populist Örebro Party, which advocates ”extensive return from Sweden. ”It's sad that it needs”, he tells Flamman. "My ideal is free movement, but really bad criminal, immigration and integration policies (and more) have put us in today's miserable situation." https://www.flamman.se/techprofil-ger-miljoner-till-orebropartiet/ #privacy #VPN #EU #uspol #immigration #sweden #racism #fascism #Mullvad

For the last decade, the #EU has been funding #Mastodon #KDE #Phosh #Nextcloud #OnlyOffice #PixelFed, #Libreoffice, #CryptPad, #Kdenlive, #Lemmy and many other Open Source projects you know and love through its #NextGenerationInternet programme. But now that programme is ending and they are thinking about its successor. They want to hear from you on what it should look like: Share your feedback to make sure the Commission keep funding amazing Open Source projects! Europe can’t talk about strategic autonomy while still importing Russian LNG or working with Rosatom. Energy dependence on an aggressor is not policy - is an expensive strategic mistake, and you all know this. 💎 We must end all russian energy imports, close loopholes, and diversify. #Ukraine #europeanUnion #Uk #eu #europe #France #Deutschland #Denmark #sweden #usa #news

Oh America, I dunno how we’re gonna come back from this era of madness, but when we do, hoooboy, we owe a lot of people a lot of apologies. Can you imagine any other time in this nation’s history when the President could have been ridiculed so publicly and so well, and most Americans think “ yeah, that tracks.” Utterly humiliating. #trump #art #eu #parliament https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-humiliated-as-giant-golden-nude-statue-unveiled-at-parliament/

➡️ https://www.tagesschau.de/investigativ/br-recherche/eu-neuregelung-pestizid-zulassung-100.html?at_medium=mastodon&at_campaign=tagesschau.de #EU #Pestizide

Deze quote vond ik sterk: "In the 21st century autonomy will not be measured by who has the legal authority, but who has the technical capacity to take decisions." #EU #digitaleautonomie

I take serious issue with the @guardian@flipboard.social's reporting on data showing increased cancer rates among young people "prompting warnings about lifestyle choices". It is completely inappropriate to suggest that cancer patients and survivors might have avoided their cancer had they made better life choices. The article says very little about the causes of cancer, only stating: "WCRF said risk factors such as growing obesity levels, poor diet, insufficient exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking and environmental exposures (such as pollutants, chemicals, plastics, water and air pollution) could be contributing to the trend" and adding "About 40% of cancers are linked to these kinds of modifiable risks." But that list mixes a lot of things: exposure to polluants, chemicals, plastics and pollution are not *personally modifiable risks*! These are society-level risks that require collective, i.e. political, action. So now is the time to report on irresponsible policies such as Germany's fuel subsidies or the EU's Food and Feed Safety Omnibus that aims to roll back safeguards protecting us and the environment from pesticides and are *currently* being implemented/negotiated NOT blame young people for not eating their fives-a-day. Seriously, what are we supposed to do: Cycle to work in more toxic fumes? Ingest more harmful pesticides by eating more fruit and veg? https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/oct/06/cancer-rates-rising-more-quickly-among-younger-people-international-study-finds #PinkOctober #cancer #pesticides #EU #OctobreRose #cancer_colere #Tankrabatt #Krebs
