Il dipartimento di Stato Usa ha diffuso un'allerta di sicurezza rivolta ai cittadini americani in Medioriente o che intendono recarsi nella regione, avvertendo che il conflitto legato all'Iran e agli Houthi dello Yemen "ha il potenziale di avere una rapida escalation". "A causa delle tensioni in Medioriente, la situazione della sicurezza rimane complessa, con il rischio di un'escalation imprevista", si legge nella comunicazione del dipartimento di Stato, che aggiunge che "i cittadini statunitensi attualmente presenti in Medioriente devono esercitare la massima vigilanza ed essere consapevoli della possibilità di cancellazioni di voli, chiusure dello spazio aereo e interruzioni dei collegamenti".
"Gli Houthi, sostenuti dall'Iran, hanno intrapreso ostilità contro l'Arabia Saudita, prendendo di mira anche aeroporti civili. Questo conflitto militare ha il potenziale di avere una rapida escalation", prosegue la comunicazione, aggiungendo che "i cittadini Usa al di fuori del Medioriente dovrebbero riconsiderare seriamente l'opportunità di recarsi nella regione o di passarci" e "coloro che si recano nella regione o ne provengono dovrebbero monitorare le informazioni relative alle operazioni aeroportuali e delle compagnie aeree".
"Strutture diplomatiche statunitensi, anche al di fuori del Medioriente, sono state prese di mira. L'Iran e i gruppi che lo sostengono potrebbero prendere di mira altri interessi statunitensi all'estero o in luoghi associati agli Stati Uniti e ai cittadini statunitensi in tutto il mondo, comprese le imprese statunitensi e altre istituzioni", recita l'avvertimento del dipartimento di Stato Usa.

This military conflict has the potential for a rapid escalation,” the communication continues, adding that “U.S. citizens outside the Middle East should seriously reconsider the opportunity to travel to the region or pass through it” and “those traveling to the region or originating from it should monitor information regarding airport operations and airline schedules.”
“U.S. diplomatic facilities, even outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Iran and groups supporting it could target other U.S. interests abroad or in locations associated with the United States and U.S. citizens worldwide, including U.S. businesses and other institutions,” states the warning from the U.S. State Department.
