it’s #FedicatFunFeatureFriday, when viewing a #bookwyrm update on #neodb, a button to search for that book in the neodb catalog, I use this to keep my neodb shelves in sync with my bookwyrm

@apps@toot.fedilab.app I think it has potential, especially with events, but regardless, it's nice to see these experimental platforms, it can provide useful ideas that can be incorporated in the mainstream ones.

Latest build resets defaults because I renamed all the AppStorage paths to avoid an issue with dots, in the process also changed the gif autoplay default to false, and Bookmark/Bookmarks/Unbookmark is now Save/Saved/Unsave.

expanding the recognition of #bookwyrm posts on #neodb to also work when viewing media updates from other neodb instances, e.g. here I see a post from neodb.social about city hunter (fun classic kdrama) and the post menu has an option to search for it locally in the tv catalog

@cheeaun@mastodon.social One problem I had with "bookmark" is the apple localization glossary has some translations that are the same as for "favorite". I was thinking of switching to "save" earlier but didn't want to confuse mastodon users who see bookmark everywhere else.

making menus big again, I was nesting submenus because recent ios versions were shrinking the max menu size but now it seems I have more room again in the timeline and context menus. @apps@toot.fedilab.app I think you should work in the style that best suits you, there are a lot of advice givers, not as many creators and contributors. I've created a lot of quick apps just because I felt like it, and I've found as long as there was a particular reason or vision for that app, someone else would like it (even if a lot of people didn't, but that's life on the app stores). There are only a few that I kept dabbling for the long term, up to ten years, that seems to be my limit, fedicat is in year 3

thinking that Reply All to a quote post should include the author of the quoted post (right now I just include all the mentions)

@apps@toot.fedilab.app they’re screwy that way, I think I couldn’t remove apps without updating them first which is just stupid. I ended up deleting my main google account to get rid of everything and they gave me one of those “sorry you feel that way” responses
