fuck my local council
they want to throw away $100K to fight a solar+battery farm that is on the fringe of dubbo as it's prime residential expansion (which I get, we need more houses), there's a bit of nimby-ism, and the deputy mayor is a cooker
the article states that council staff advised the councillers that this is a very long shot and the spend is likely a waste of cash!
meanwhile the sole open space sporting area west of the wambuul doesn't have enough reticulated capacity to be watered
not just once a week. at all. zero watering is done there
the department that runs it has zero plans to fix that. they have done nothing in at least 5 years to provide adequate facilites to half of the town
yet let's throw away $100K on this bullshit?
new south park lessssgoooooo
@camwilson@mastodon.social lemme know if you switch your article alerts off substack, so I can resubscribe :)
apparently pauline and the beetrooter are in #dubbo for a fundraiser
wonder if there's a protest happening to tell them to fuck right off
spent the middle part of the day shovelling, now playing with evcc but I can't get it to see the car!

@futzle@old.mermaid.town the most I remember was 900ish but don't recall the site
that's incredibly dire though. how can anyone possibly claim privacy, consent and respect for your users with those numbers

@trib@aus.social discourse has all that and is open source, some of the founders are aussies too!
might need to get myself a new beanie, my current one is falling apart at the seams

@trib@aus.social then you get the "we've tried to reach you to discuss X" texts and they expect you to spend 30 minutes on hold to then follow up
ugh, work (a nsw state gov department) is releasing internal videos with ai generated, usa accented voice overs
what we do in the shadows is top notch piss taking
hey #nodejs fans I need some advice for something new to me
if someone is building code on their mac laptop and we want to deploy it on a different server we need to run nnpm install to grab the right packages for the different cpu architectures
I found docker as one option, a ci pipeline as another. I can think of an approach using shell scripting as well
is there a general consensus around how to handle this?

@jpm@aus.social I did this as well. be aware of the salary limits around unfair dismissal cause if you're over the cap/limit then even they can't help

@ColinTheMathmo@mathstodon.xyz dunno, the whole supporting nazis thing doesn't really balance up to "it's free!" @johnquiggin@aus.social

@cafuego@misanthrope.social thanks, I think the naming system has thrown me in the past as I have put the full (eg) C/2025 R3 in and it's never found it
this morning started clear(ish) and it's now cloudy and foggy, which is kinda weird this late in the morning
