I'm inclined to believe this, based on my limited knowledge and seeing how different this virus is from SARS-CoV-2. But I don't fully blame people who don't believe it. We were told pretty similarly "Don't worry, this isn't like bird flu" six and a half years ago.

Interestingly, binary is a late addition in many languages. C# didn't have it until version 7, and C++ until version 14.
