Asking a 16 year old if they have a sense of their gender is likely to get a more concrete answer and most teens would want a strong voice in such decisions.

The South East Asian lad behind the counter actually laughed at me and just said "No". I obviously looked a little offended so he said he'd make something nice and spicy for me instead. When I tell you I sat on that bench and persevered until my eyes bled and I perspired my soul into my cardigan and said thank you very much as I left. He was absolutely right. Hubris.
