Introducing the first (that I know of) blog that utilizes The Forkiverse for its comment system. Yes, in lieu of provisioning my own AWS VM and S3 bucket to host my own comments, I decided to use someone else’s compute, bandwidth, storage, and moderation(?) to power my blog’s comment system instead.

I think AI slop is like a single sprinkle atop the shit sundae we've been served since the early 2000's. I haven't trusted pet rescue videos for like a decade at this point.

LLMs aren't a human analogue. They're a Photoshop analogue. There will still be engineers who code in vi with no plugins — like there are still artists who draw with pencils — but that's not going to be the norm. And I don't really see anything wrong with that.

It's just how technology has always evolved tools that solve problems. I have way more ideas than I have time and that is a problem most engineers share. That problem is solved by LLMs and so here we are.

I love how my social feeds are chock full of shit that, specifically, a 44 year-old would love, but they're trying to force through OS level age verification because they're just not sure if I'm a lil guy or not.

I actually run into quite a few luddites in tech and that's weird to me.

Why does Reels default to the loudest possible volume in a Desktop browser with no volume control? Why is it so hard for these companies to add volume controls? (I use a volume control extension, but I shouldn't have to)
