Maybe I like cats so much because they are so much like me. Get foster kitten a new toy, he really likes it. But has gotten distracted by hoodie zipper more than once in his play sessions

What kind of nerd am I?
Had friends decide to do a digimon watch party (I had never seen it before) and end up looking up scholarly articles on capitalism, neoliberalism, and gender roles of/around digital pets to confirm some of my initial thoughts.
Can't decide if the writers were doing commentary or just so entrenched in capitalist mores they were unable to make their digital fantasy world anything but a reflection of our grim society.
Yet again I say: I am very fun at parties.
Happy banned books week. I can't exclamation it because it's such a bummer how many bannings are still happening in the US. Here's some potential titles to consider for your next read. https://bookshop.org/lists/the-17-most-banned-books-of-the-2025-26-school-year/
If you don't know Pen America has been essential in tracking the explosion of banning in the US the last few years. Definitely a source I would recommend if you want to read more about the trends or get some facts and figures to use while you talk about this issue with others.
I should be in bed but I have an Important Tiresias Update: he blep. #WhiskerWednesday #FosterKitten #CatsOfMastodon
Omg Paul F Tompkins did Off Menu! Does this mean the thing I have been fighting because I don't need another podcast with years of history to suddenly have to get current on is gonna happen? Signs point to yes
Things are getting wild. #CatsOfMastodon #FosterKitten
I like cats more than almost everything
Most frustrating part of chat reference is I always want to add something (i.e. we have a libguide that you might want to check for more databases dear grad student), but they almost always leave when I am typing that last suggestion beyond the exact answer to their question.
My 5th year of St Jude fundraising closes tomorrow. I had some pretty brutal depression in September so I got started late, but would be so appreciative if you have the funds to spare that you consider donating for the kids. https://tiltify.com/@instantiatethis/yearfive
I am not interested it football or willing to do the research but I really wonder if fly eagles fly came before or after run Forrest run
10/10 Cutest trap, would get trapped again. #caturday #FosterKitten
I hate when I drop something and wake up a cat
Last day with these precious angel baby criminals. They are going to a PetSmart adoption center which is where most of our cats get adopted. They have been a delight and only damaged a handful of things. They did make using my computer very difficult many times

#caturday #FosterKittensThe problem with my phone browser is it makes it easy to see I have 82 tabs open. On PC I can just rest easy in the knowledge that there are more tabs in another window or five.
I did get this charming moment tho #FosterKitten #CatsOfMastodon
Kinda let my back garden take over and I really like my happy stair begonia #bloomscrolling

I haven't been a California voter in 9 years; will I ever stop getting California election texts?
If I was better at painting I would want to paint him like a Rembrandt #WhiskerWednesday
I don't have a book problem. I have a book solution. As in I could fight off a hoard by throwing books at them.

I wish it wasn't 90% humidity now that it isn't wildly hot
My peony is spectacular this year #Bloomscrolling
Dealing with one of my greatest ADHD challenges: trying to figure out which smoke detector is beeping but getting bored/distracted before it beeps again to confirm
I'm glad somebody likes the heat #Bloomscrolling
It's so cute when cats nibble on their leggies like it's an ear of corn
It's the type of weather that when I step outside I can't help but say "hot"
Well those 5 days without a heat advisory were nice.
Actually no they weren't, it was still too hot and 90+% humidity the whole time
It is hard to be motivated for work when management is shit

@loriemerson@post.lurk.org it's fully got my group of former Catholic school atheists at the ready if our workplaces start having mandates
Now that I work from home more the question is how many lounge pants do I want/need? It is definitely higher than it used to be.
You would think with my currently 6 to 1 cats at home it would be enough cats but no I need all your cat photos, my dear internet
The cats do not understand that I am overheated
I don't see a lot of ads but It is funny to think about who they think I am when I do get one. Like who thinks I am a person that is buying yachts more than double my mortgage? Someone that pays the New York Times does
Kittens are really cute
Am I hungry or bored? An ADHD Story
