@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social one thing, the decentralized nature means there is perhaps too much choice. Do you get an account on mastodon.social, mstdn.ca, mastodon.com, tusky.whatever.... And also what app do you use to access it? When there was Twitter, there was one official app. With Mastodon, there are a multitude. Sometimes too much choice is counterproductive.

@david_megginson@mstdn.ca @MixMistressAlice@todon.eu I do wonder if Windows 14 or higher might quietly change the underlying OS to their Azure linux. Then again, the video did point out, that Azure Linux is a cloud-only offering.

@mason@partychickens.net in my area, K8S introduced a new complication to deploying OpenText Content Server. You have the IT teams that know Content Server when it runs on a Windows VM, and you have K8S IT Teams who know nothing about the middleware application running on their platform. And invariably, the teams don't interact as is the case everywhere in IT.

@Beldarak@mastodon.gamedev.place @taylorlorenz@mastodon.social on my phone, I've been using Tusky. I found multiple apps for Mastodon on Google play, and just went with the one that seemed to have the best rating at the time.

@QasimRashid the deafening global silence from world leaders leads me to conclude that Israel must have a TON of blackmail material on western leaders (certainly the US and UK but probably Germany as well). And what they don't have they can fabricate.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social this all assumes that the US had any intention of creating a stable democracy in any of those countries. In the case of Iraq and Libya and now Venezuela, is they prevented oil industries from being nationalized and prevented the sale of oil in currency other than US$

Netenyahu has patently demonstrated he doesn't care two wits for any hostages who still remain.

@geekygirldawn whenever I'm asked to interview a potential developer, I always look to figure out if they will let me know when they are in over their heads. Too often, junior resources keep going even though they are clearly out of their depth

@MiaMarkTwo@syzito.xyz @stephanie@ottawa.place the only thing having Carney as PM does for us now, is that unlike if PP were in charge, we're not going to be part of the USA. But it feels like PP is a Bond super-villain whose only purpose is to make Carney seem rational. If the "owners" were serious about the CONS, they have pushed to ditch PP last year.

@JackTheCat@mastodon.scot Iran negotiating with the US is like when you are shaking hands with the schoolyard bully and mid-handshake, he sucker punches you. You quickly learn not to trust him. Iran is right to not want to negotiate. Every time they do, they get sucker punched

@DavidM_yeg regime change really reads like the US saying to world leaders in smaller countries "if you don't hand over all of your nation's resources, we'll put someone in power in your country who will"

@jensorensen@mastodon.social great idea. We need to get the rest of men on board if we want a habitable planet. Totally relate to the biking one. I bike in city traffic regularly. It is at least in downtown Ottawa, the fastest way to get around.

@nemo@mas.to this just makes me want to root for Iran even more. It's also no wonder that today, the majority of citizens of the west now trust China more than they trust the USA which blindly obeys Israel at every turn.

@dyckron@cosocial.ca totally feels like pitting urban voters against suburban voters, like when Doug Ford wanted to rip up bike lanes in the city of Toronto to appease suburban voters who don't even live where the bike lanes are but transit through their neighbourhood.

Canadians, CRA should investigate UN Watch. Just because UN is in the name doesn't make it an OK charity.
