Day 47 of being unemployed. Rejection has become natural, and I don't know what to do except keep going. The world is very different from the last time I was going through this. I'm trying to keep my chin up, but the fears are creeping in.
Great news #NewJersey !
The Neo-Nazi show at the Wisla Club in Garfield has been canceled! Granted, the Wisla club is still disclaiming any responsibility, but a win is a win.

90% of the world could be summed up like this.
Well, it's official. I've been #unemployed for over 24 hours. I've already started putting out applications, even before filing for unemployment - that'll be a task for tomorrow or Friday.
Seven and a half years of my life were dedicated to that company. It's not hard for me to say that they kept me alive through the 2020 lockdowns.
Now it's time to take my next step. I'd wish for luck, but I don't need that. I need a job that suits my experience.

@foone@digipres.club Never underestimate the Bronies. They're capable of amazing highs and despicable lows.

@LilahTovMoon Attraction in what context? And do you mean, "Aragorn" & "Legolas", or do you mean as portrayed by Viggo Mortenson & Orlando Bloom?
I really, really hate doing things like this - but, please, don't buy the Signature Select / Acme Supermarkets bacon. Before it fully cooks, it turns into blackened, smoking charcoal. It's set off my fire alarm once, and today, I thankfully caught it before that happened.
It never rains but it pours. I've been doing good husband things since last night. And as I thought I would have time to chill, Mom needed me, so I ended up doing good son things.
Does it ever slow down?

@streetartutopia@mastodon.online Have you considered using real pictures instead of LLM-driven image compositor slop?

@pafurijaz@mastodon.social Half the point of #FOSS (or more than half, for a lot of people) is the "free as in beer" element. If they were willing to pay for things, they'd be in the Windows or Mac walled gardens. That's just the reality of the situation. Create a tool for everyone, and everyone will use it until they need to pay up.

@KolaMagpie@this.mouse.rocks Is that after the Hari clone drinks LOX? Because that scene scarred me enough in the original movie that the book just faded in comparison until the end when he addresses the ocean directly.

@FritzAdalis@infosec.exchange Proud of your kid, but she needs to learn the difference between "a" and "an".

There's more than one option of adblocker. It could be Adguard, AdBlockPlus, uBlock Origin, Adblock Legacy, or even a Pi-Hole. So it's a single adblocker,

@diynotdie@gardenstate.social It has been in my experience. Though I'll admit, I've only been there to advertise a non-profit group and to get stuff for myself.

@wonderofscience@mastodon.social Amazing to think about in relation to the lack of exploration since.

@reesecommabill@gardenstate.social @BlowUpRadio@gardenstate.social They put it way too far south though. It should be Paterson.
I hope that everyone else is doing well, #TGIF ! The only hassle I'm having is the allergies. Then again, even my cat is sneezing from the pollen!
I don't like reposting Reddit links usually, but this is important for #NewJersey people to know: https://old.reddit.com/r/bergencounty/comments/1udi8pb/kep_productions_is_the_promoters_of_the_nazi_show/

@BlowUpRadio@gardenstate.social Anytime anyone argues with Gotham being New Jersey, ask them what the first name of Paterson was, before it was renamed for some dude.

@rastilin@aus.social @pafurijaz@mastodon.social I don't see a likelihood of users or corporations being willing to pay for open source. If payment changes hands, that's a contract. And I'm sure that everyone wants a contract that protects them from anything that might go wrong.
So, I've decided that I want to get into #podcasts again. And because of one of my favorite YouTubers, I've found one that I really enjoy (so far): War With a Mate. https://warwithamate.co.uk or https://www.youtube.com/@WarwithaMate/videos
They're playing The Campaign for North Africa: The Desert War - 1940-1943. It's a wargame/board game that has never been finished.

No, it can't be free, because the exchange of money for goods or licensed services implies that the creator must provide the product or service in a functional state. And, it means that even the most permissive license is binding. You own nothing and must be happy.
@sturmsucht That's great until she needs to do her taxes and none of the software works. Then you have a problem.
