Cliff

Pops, it was 5 years ago today that I lost you. That's when I lost my best friend, my rock, my shoulder to lean on, the best father ever put on this planet. I miss you more than I can ever put into words and it grows each and every day! I love you so much and just wish I could do anything to hear your voice or give you a huge hug! Life is hard without you, but thankfully you taught me so many things and how to be ready to traverse life without you and I couldn't be anymore appreciative! I know you're somewhere out there making sure Bianca and I are safe and sound. Thank you for always being such an amazing human and again, I LOVE YOU and I MISS YOU so much! #Pops #Father #Dad #IMissYou #ILoveYou #FiveYears #RIP #RestInPeace

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Boo at switching to Firefox. 😜

What MacOS app do people use to view storage space on their device? My M4 Mac Mini doesn't have a lot of storage since I got the base model, but I'd love to find an app that breaks it all down for me so I know where my space is being used. #MacOS #MacApps #Mac #Storage

@pixelbud@techbacon.social Thanks again for reaching out yesterday. I purchase Symbiote this morning, installed it and got my /Applications symlinked over with no issues at all. I really like the simplicity of the app and what it does. I'll definitely be writing up a review of this in the coming weeks.

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Oh, very nice!

@ChasMusic@ohai.social Thanks. But I'm looking for actual apps that provide more features/options.

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Oh! Those will come soon. I haven't forgotten about that.

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Nope. I have them saved/bookmarked along with a bunch of others that were suggested. I've just been focusing on apps that I currently use and have been using since I started my MacOS journey. I will get to those others very soon.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Right! It's a tough job. It's one I don't miss at all. I could have gone all my life without unloading bags of concrete, pallets of shingles and truck fulls of sheetrock. In fact, my first ever delivery I had to do when I started there was to a huge house on Lake Houston. They had 700+ sheets of sheetrock and 250 boxes of sheetrock mud. I'll never forget that. And yes, we had to put certain amounts in each individual room.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Exactly! When my dad and I worked for a family owned lumber/hardware store(not owned by our family), we always had Tuesday's and Wednesday's off for that very reason. We did it for 20+ years.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Same! I'm 55 and couldn't do it any longer, but like I said, glad I got that experience. I also quickly learned roofing isn't for me either. I knew it wasn't from working at the lumber yard, but about 20 years ago I was talked into helping a very good friend who absolutely needed someone that worked hard. All I had to do was move bundles of shingles around on the roof and throw all the old shingles off onto the ground. I HATED IT! Never did it again after the 2nd day.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Same! They have my respect and they have my permission to keep doing what they do so I don't have to! 🤪

@Ronnie@mastodon.social I hear you! I'm the same. I spent 25+ years of my job career in retail/management and fast-food/management(about 5 years) and I hate going to stores unless absolutely necessary. I love the fact that we can have our Walmart order delivered. Saves me in so many ways. LOL

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Personally, very overrated. I much prefer to have at least one non-weekend day off, if not both. Less people out and about during the week when you're wanting to do things.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Very nice! I have Sunday's and Monday's off and have since I started at Skylight. Bianca has Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off from Amazon, so it works out. Monday's is usually when we venture out in the wild world. LOL

@emsquared@social.coop Thank you so much! I really do appreciate it and you are most definitely correct in that statement.

@dhry@mastodon.social Whatever you say.

@ernmander@squatch.online At least they appear broken for me on the new update. Let me know if you experience something different once you update.

@ernmander@squatch.online Nice! Back to the waiting game. LOL

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Yep, I did that as well. I also worked where we had to deliver 1 1/2-inch x 20ft sheetrock into office buildings. Taking it into elevators and such. Hated life doing that stuff.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social I do too! I have all sorts of things delivered if I can. I really hate going places.

@ernmander@squatch.online True. And yeah, that's what I'm guessing as well. Like why fix it now just to have it possibly break again. I understand these things happen in beta builds and I'm ok with it. Just my OCD triggers. 🤪

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Huh? What suggestion are you referring to?

@dhry@mastodon.social What are you talking about? I review the apps I use and try new apps so I can review them. What's wrong with that?

@ernmander@squatch.online LOL It doesn't seem like it would be that big, but once you put it on the desk, it seems HUGE!

@infoseclogger@infosec.exchange True! Sad that it happens like that.

@dhry@mastodon.social So you think that little section covers 81% of the article that's not in AI according to your slop ass AI detector? Proof that math truly is difficult for some people. Also, thanks for pointing out the typo. That's not been fixed.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social LOL I did the same exact thing myself! My dad was an indoor salesman and I went to work for the company right after I turned 18. I started in the lumberyard outside for the first 2-years. Then I got moved inside and never looked back. Got into a management a year after that.

@dhry@mastodon.social The reviews on PureApp.reviews get auto posted here. So if you follow me, you should see them.

Did some cleanup on my feed over the last of couple of days. Figured out there were some folks that I didn't want nor need to see their bullshit any longer, so that's taken care of. It's crazy how you think some folks are good people, and then suddenly they show their true colors by things they say, things they do, things they post or whatever. It's like it changes over night. Seems to be a pretty regular occurrence, unfortunately.

@marti As if that wasn't obvious.

@Ronnie@mastodon.social Oh totally. I'm so thankful I have that experience. Lots of people can't do that type of stuff, so I was blessed that I could. But I don't miss it today. I much prefer my work at home job where I'm in the AC all day sitting at a chair typing on a keyboard.

@ernmander@squatch.online Ah, no worries! Certainly not a big rush at all.

@majorlinux@toot.majorshouse.com Any relation to Donald......wait, never mind! 😜

@dhry@mastodon.social Think what you want then. Clearly nobody will convince you otherwise. If you think it is, you certainly don't have to read it or view it. Simple as that. Pretty upsetting that people think something is written by AI just because "everyone is using it" in today's world. Those of us that have been blogging for 15+ years supposedly can't write on our because everyone believes AI has taken over everything. Sad and disgusting.

@ernmander@squatch.online I used Ice a while back, but haven't in a while. Hidden Bar isn't updated any longer, which is why I switched to Hidden Bar Revised. It's a fork and updated regularly. I also tried Bartender and it wasn't working either. I really hope they get this fixed. All my icons showing is killing my OCD.

@tucats@mastodon.social Very well said. I hope your weekend is good as well.

@ernmander@squatch.online Thank you sir! What app do you use to hide menubar icons? I'm using Hidden Bar Revised. I've tried uninstalling and installing again but still broken.

@ghalldev@mastodon.social Out of curiosity, any plans to make a MacOS version?

@ernmander@squatch.online Like I said, the Mac was super quick for me. It's usually the other way around. Sadly, hiding of menubar icons is still broken on beta 3 for me. It's the one thing I was hoping to see a fix for.

@dhry@mastodon.social As stated, images were created with AI, and sorry, so was the alt-text for said images. The only other thing that was AI was the code for the social media buttons at the bottom of the page to get them all on a single line. The article/review itself is not AI. Also, for images and such, I don't use Claude, and never will.

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange And don't forget, you can always do app reviews too! With all the things you use, you'd have all sorts of great apps to review!

@dhry@mastodon.social Stating that my stuff is written by AI is an actual attack and nothing but lies. I truly don't appreciate it, just like nobody else would, unless they knew what you were saying were actually true. Like I said, I've been doing this for 15 years, long before AI was around. So to anyone who accuses people of doing it when they aren't, those people can go fuck themselves.

@dhry@mastodon.social While yes, it can be implied that way, and I won't argue that, my reviews are all my own personal opinion and how I see things or how I feel about things. That's something that should be understood with any article on my site. But good call out, as it's feedback and criticism like this that I want to hear about. I want the site to be as good as possible and I want people reading it. So I do appreciate you taking the time just read even a portion of it.

@dhry@mastodon.social Oh, I think you've mentioned this game to me before. It's kind of like a tower defense game, right?

@cyberseckyle@infosec.exchange Why the change? Curious what happened with Vivaldi?
