@mrowster@linernotes.club It's a great record! Fwiw, it only just dawned on me that "Axeman" means guitarist.

Rimsky-Korsakov - "Scheherazade" (1961) (Orch. Suisse Romande, Ansermet cond.)
Thrift store find. This era of London-Decca pressings sounds better than just about anything.

When I first heard this a couple years ago, I heard a spiritual kinship with Wicked Lady's 1970 fuzzy stoner rock epic, "The Axeman Cometh". Turns out Martin Weaver, lead guitarist and vocalist of WL, left that band to join Dark to record this record.
Cassette procured from local NM label Saturn Eye Records. Came with a nifty glossy photo of the band, signed on the back by Steve Giles.
