Replying to

@greg_harvey@tooting.ch The amount of times I see posts along the lines of "when I bought this car from the dealer it showed 300 Miles of range, but I've just driven 100+ Miles at 70mph and it's now showing only 100 left." But personally I prefer that, annoyingly my LEAFs GOM doesn't seem to adapt to driving style.

I saw this on Reddit yesterday.

If you use a Dualsense controller on PC, you can get a Pico 2W and flash it to become a USB Adapter.

Provides full haptics and such wirelessly!

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1sz3l97/psa_since_sony_wont_make_a_pc_dongle_for_the/

PSA: Since Sony won't make a PC dongle for the DualSense, you can build your own for less than $20 using a Raspberry Pi Pico 2W. Wireless Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback finally work natively.

In some pretty good news. Brand new EVs are on average cheaper than Petrol.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/apr/17/new-uk-electric-car-price-petrol-ev-autotrader

Definitely a move in the right direction.

Average new UK electric car price is now lower than petrol vehicles

Average new UK electric car price is now lower than petrol vehicles

Autotrader says average EV cost is £785 cheaper, in an important milestone in the move away from fossil fuels

Nothing better than the Google Play notices to developers going to spam boxes in regards to the new Verification they're trying to push.

On Gmail / Gsuite....

Twice as I have two Dev accounts too.

@ahnlak@kavlak.uk @revk@toot.me.uk @royalmail@bird.makeup I think I've had it before where the tracking has stopped on RMs site but luckily the code works on the destination countries postal service.

@revk IANAL but not sure if you'd sue Supplyframe or what seems to be a new "Tindie Inc". Both? Both seems a good choice.

@vfrmedia Dual Action Polisher (Autofinesse DPX I think) , I used Koch Chemie's One Cut & Protect as the polish and their matching One Cut Pad. I've also tried and had reasonable success with Schol Concepts Polish and a Chemical Guys Green pad too. Initially I used Autofinesse's 3,2,1 kit but it takes much longer so I moved to a one step instead.

@vfrmedia I ordered mine with some other bits from In2detailing but there's a seller on ebay that sells just the polish and pad for a tad more but includes shipping. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125482922368

@vfrmedia No problem. I think one of the slight differences with this too is it has some wax / sealant too.

@statsguy@mas.to The quirk seems to be because we're on an EV Tariff too. I'll be having a little shop around at our next renewal.

@alecaddd I get annoyed when someone then reports an error and assumes that I must already have 100s of reports about it and wonders why it hasn't been fixed a month ago. Because nobody reported it a month ago 😔

Replying to

@fedops@fosstodon.org @statsguy@mas.to Out of interest what's your cost to buy it? The main bug is that the energy companies are dropping our export rates, whilst import is going up (around £0.28 a kWh vs the £0.12 export)

@robhawkes@fosstodon.org Out of interest are wind farms where they show them on the map, but not the actual data overlay just that there's no data available?

Replying to

@robhawkes@fosstodon.org Well the map data shows the wind farm local to me (Scroby Sands) but there's not the overlay and it's not in the list of assets either. I presume it's just that there's not the data for it?

Replying to

@statsguy@mas.to Unfortunately not quite as bad as EON, they're cutting ours from 16p to 6p a kWh. Despite their drop, Octo is looking a tad better at 12p. Yet similarly, both have increased prices.

@wokstation@universeodon.com I'm hoping the greens will stay out of it and the main contender remains as binface. Even if binface doesn't win, if they got like 40% of the vote that'd be enough in itself.
