@skeletor@mas.to I couldn't have gotten past year 15 if I didn't swear. Swearing is so important.

@uweb @glassresistor @_RyekDarkener_ @MarkHoltom This is the sort of banter that really gets us somewhere. Very productive. I know that boomers and Gen X aren't individually responsible, and often, have quite a bit of insight on a number of matters, but, on the other hand, are ignorant of the current hardships of younger generations, because they aren't living them. One thing is for sure, division between generations keeps us from looking up at the people really ruining our lives. The 1%.

@rey @zed @sammy the point of these things, is so that people don't shit in the street. So people DO walk them. If they can't find a place to shit, they won't come.

@twipped Silicon Valley is out of ideas, so they are building atrocious bullshit to make line go up. Turns out, there cannot be an infinite money machine, even if it seemed like one for a short while.

@Mimesatwork I want every block to have 2 genderless bathrooms, each of which have the capacity to close to enter cleaning mode, in which whatever happened in there is etch-a-sketched. I know that homeless folk will occasionally have an angry outburst, or...I don't what compels this, but think painting with shit. We cannot pay a human cleaning person enough to deal with that. So this is where automation should actually happen. Bathroom autoclaves itself. Also they have bidets. Civilization!

@ELS Man hates the idea that anyone can measure any kind of objective reality that could conceivably contradict him. That anyone can know anything at all, without his say so.

@smutmag yes

@jef Every American Wasp.

@mhoye@cosocial.ca Still, I think there can be productive dialogue about improving. While the old adage about not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good holds some weight, I think it itself, is often used as a cudgel to silence any critique, and requiring of leftists that they simply MUST vote for the most milquetoast, fascist-enabling dipshit that has ever walked the earth(In this case, assuming that Gavin Newsom has already won the Primary that has not yet occured).

@jascha Feel like the dice are weighted differently every day, too.

@avilewis more like war-crime oil revenues.

@glencoe oh to hear: "Breaking News"

@danirabbit Without queer people, I suspect nothing resembling civilization would exist. It triggers certain folks to hear it, and honestly, good. Cope and seethe.

@lynnesbian it works fine during ice ages, I guess. But still pretty ass in tropical regions.

@mhoye@cosocial.ca Ah, but invective emerged, nonetheless. Alas. But there is a huge difference from say, an AIPAC-funded crowd-sourced opinion spouter, and someone with convictions for good things who, is not perfect. And none of them are. But I think it says a lot for someone to be able to become more educated on the power dynamics of an issue they are not familiar with. And a lot of lefty politicians do just that.

@aphyr @dkub what terribly lonely people.

@aphyr you spoke ill of Roko's Basilisk, now you must be shunned. That is who Redditors are.

@DJDarren At Least Gargoyles has a plot, and like, a few underlying messages. Kids of this generation were robbed of having somewhat nuanced media, even if they were also shilling toys.

@frawst the plot has been lost. Bitches be so mired in slop, they don't know what anything even is. They'll just ask Claude to do it.

@poppyhaze@girlcock.club I'm recalling a meme I can't find where this had like a 1950s family up top, but this will do:

@ecosurrealism@jorts.horse I really do feel like the title of "weed" is sort of an absurd distinction invented by humans, though. And yeah, they can disrupt and upset thing you might be trying to grow specifically, but...ultimately, they're just fast growers, or difficult to remove plants. Did you know the Europeans initially brought Dandelions to the Americas on purpose, for medicinal uses?

@cgsines@mastodon.world @RickiTarr@beige.party i disagree here, I think it's achievable, but it needs to come from a particular place. That place is : "Get loved on, idiot!" "You're worth every drop of effort, you preposterous, self-hating fool, hecking enjoy yourself, and think about how many people want you to succeed, dummy!" Like, imagine a bully that just loves you to pieces, and thinks the only stupid parts about you, are the bits that are caught in self-loathing.

@springdiesel@spore.social I would argue that certain circumstances, like having a degree of resources where consequences are no longer a thing for you, that it is deletarious to your mental health, and capacity for empathy. But no, it doesn't make you not a human. It might make you act like not a human, though. Maybe we should intervene for their mental health, distribute those hoarded resources, and help them regain some of their "acting like a human". Also, maybe take away their cocaine and/or ketamine.
