Ah yes, plex lifetime increased to $750. More reasons why I wish my friend’s media server was on Jellyfin
I showered then immediately tried practicing mixing and got too into it, now I need to shower again :(
This job I have is nice but the commute is in the more busy roads and there’s TONS of roadkill that never gets cleaned up, so every day I get to witness decomposition. It’s quite interesting to watch but ew
Okay I am actually officially employed
I have FINALLY solved my issue with audio inconsistencies with my GPU Screen Recorder replay buffer. Apparently it didn't like that the source I was trying to pull from was already plugged into something else, so I had to make an exclusive "X Mix Recording Output" just so GPU Screen Recorder could hook into it.
Now I can have:
- Media
- Voice Calls
- Microphone
All on separate audio channels, meaning there's now no reason for my clips to have bad audio mixing when I edit them!!
Love magical metal machines on rails that just teleport you to a different place for an affordable price
finally had a day off work and decided to dedicate that time to compiling glibc, elapsed time so far is 2 hrs 22 min
edit: it took exactly 3 hours
So it went OKAY.
I booked a 3:15 PM block, but I had to deal with traffic and some bored cop telling me that my phone mount was taking up too much space on my windshield (took them 7 years to tell me that). I was already barely making it to the distribution center so I had to forfeit that 3:15 PM block 15 mins before my shift since cops like to take way too much time, but ended up only keeping me for 2 mins so it kinda didn't matter if I had forfeited... So that's kinda making me super anxious about my account's standing
I then booked a 4:00 PM block and made it to the center. I got scanned in but didn't get assigned a route for 30 mins. So they ended up paying me to just sit there. So that was kinda nice.
I then booked a 5:45 PM block and finally got a route with 5 packages. It wasn't so bad and didn't take up much time, they were mostly spread across 5 different neighborhoods so I was mostly just driving around.
Overall I made $62 + $20 tip for actually working for an hour. Wasn't too bad, I hope forfeiting that first block doesn't hurt my standing too hard, that's gonna be making me anxious until they update my grading.
It's always so entertaining watching the furry pipeline happen in real time.
Met someone who joined a furry-centric community just so he could play games with a close friend. They said they weren't a furry and had a very condescending take on the culture/fandom whenever it came up, stating that they'd rather just be there to play games with his friend and meet other people he can play games with. He made it very clear that he didn't really enjoy furry stuff and really just wanted a place to hang out, this supposedly being the only one.
Most of the conversations I ever had with them were when I was talking about things like conventions and they entered into the conversation saying something along the lines of "I would never show my face at a furry con, you guys are too weird". Basically just trying to tell the whole call that they really do not like furry culture. After a few more conversations, it was very clear to me that I was not going to be in the same space as this guy for the future, so I ended up avoiding calls that had them in it. But overtime I started to notice them coming around in the NSFW voice chat space within that community, mostly because the guy he was hanging with was also spending a lot of time there. Which was an interesting sight. I was expecting them to maybe be there only a few times but it started to become a weekly occurrence.
Fast forward to today, nearly a year and a half later. They're posting a full-on NSFW ref sheet of their fursona in the community's NSFW chat. No shame to the guy, but damn it's really entertaining to watch this kind of change happen in real time.
Yay back problems at work finally happened!! Time to not work for however long this takes to recover!!
Treated myself to a moment of cedar incense and a listen to “good news for people who like bad news” on vinyl after working my ass off for the first time in years and actually being paid decently for it :wvrn_flat:
