@HannaEsmeralda_@masto.ai @kallekn@mastodonsweden.se @AriaaJaeger@masto.ai I’m not sure why you’d cancel the boost but if you read the article the only difference between what she posted & the article is that Einstein actually wasn’t giving speeches to any universities but “In May 1946, Einstein defied the prevailing racial climate at the time to visit Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, the first degree-granting black college in the US.” Making it a very precedent act in his time.

@AriaaJaeger@masto.ai thank you for posting this! Your comment wasn’t 100% accurate but anyone curious enough would do the research to find out more! My absolute favorite is finding that around the 1920s Einstein’s private diaries would (in today’s time) label him as a xenophobe. Not only was he an intelligent physicist, but he was able to grow & gain an understanding of social injustices throughout his life. What a remarkable man.

Trans… go to jail Helping & supporting trans… go to jail Abortion… go to jail Vote… go to jail Talk about black history… go to jail Mention LGBTQ+… go to jail This is only a small portion of what the gop is afflicting against Americans & the really depressing part is… they’re getting away with it.

@ruedi@social.cologne @QasimRashid@mastodon.social you are exactly right! It wasn’t that long ago that the United Daughters of the Confederacy rewrote history textbooks for the confederate states. As you can imagine it whitewashed slavery & what the civil war was about. That’s where we get our biggest divide in the United States. People are being taught 2 different types of history.
