OMG! This retirement residence is a locked building. Staff use a fob to enter and exit and because I don't have dementia, I was issued one and provided the numerical code. Because the fire alarm was set off 3 times it was disabled in turn it disables all the door locking mechanisms. To keep wandering residents inside, they were planning to Barricade the Doors on the Outside of the building. Imagine if a fire broke out! 🔥 🔥 🔥 Residents trapped inside! #RetirementLivingCanada.

Part two of thread🧵 Walking along the hallways everyone is greeted with his enthusiastic cheerful smile and humorous but welcoming comments. But when I watch him walking alone, or as he closes his door at night, his shoulders slump, an exhausted expression surfaces, and it's sadly apparent his own battle with cancer and grief is taking its toll.💔 #RetirementLivingCanada
