I don't usually admit when I get fooled, but I think it's important to be honest. Yesterday I was scammed, and I'm embarrassed, angry, and scared about what comes next. It started with what I thought was an online loan company. Looking back, the email domain was the first red flag. They offered a $2,000 loan at 9.9% interest. It sounded like the lifeline I desperately needed. Over the next couple of hours they kept me busy with emails and phone calls. They convinced me to accept a deposit, then told me I needed to buy a $200 gift card as "insurance" to prove I could make the loan payments. I wish I had stopped and questioned it. I was juggling meetings, phone calls, and everything else life was throwing at me. By the time I realized what was happening, it was too late. They had taken advantage of someone who was already struggling.

#MutualAidRequest to help a recently housed again disabled trans couple Goal: $0/$200 Hello Fedi. After nearly two years of being homeless @LukeOrion@indiepocalypse.social and I are finally housed again. Now that we are housed again we do need some help being able to get some things for both our new place and us.
