I'm Dennis, a Dutch developer building two board game apps on my own. It started a year ago, when my wife and our neighbour wanted proof of who wins more. So I built Board Games Tracker. https://boardgamestracker.com The second, RuleVault, turns official rulebooks into setup checklists and turn guides. Not out yet, but the waitlist is open. https://rule-vault.com Here I'll post what I'm building and the design questions I can't settle alone. #Introduction #BoardGames #IndieDev

Hi all. I've had this account for a while but never introduced myself. I am from Michigan. I love all music. Metal is part of me. I have gaps to fill for lost years. I tend to spend time with albums and let them grow over multiple listens. Outside music, I enjoy board games, podcasts, books, travel & life with cats and grown kids.I enjoy hobbies that help make life richer and less hectic. Not a fan of current president. Enough about him. I'd love to connect with music fans, readers, podcast listeners, and casual BGA players. I enjoy social aspect of playing. #Introduction #MetalheadClub #Metal #BoardGames #BoardGameArena #Podcasts #Books #Cats #Michigan

A friend hosted some games this morning. The other table played Andromeda's Edge while ours played Brass Birmingham. It was a learning game for me. For a lot of the game I was leading because I was following people's suggestions. I came 2nd and the 4 scores were tight. BB is a very complex game but I can see why it is popular. I need to play it a few more times soon. But FSM, who (else) starts #boardgames at 8:00 AM on a Saturday?

DiceQuest arrived so of course me and teens have been playing the last couple days. This time I just barely managed to lead the final adventure giving me a 2 point lead for the win. #boardgames #gaming #DiceQuest #CrowdFunding

@PlaidInvader@mstdn.ca brought over his copy of the boardgame Hot Streak. It looks like it's going to be very silly. Such a great presentation. #boardgames

🥰 #brettspiele #boardgames

Table question: which game has the most satisfying turn structure you’ve played? Not necessarily the deepest or longest—just the one where every turn feels clean, purposeful, and fun. #BoardGames #GameDesign #TabletopNZ

Replying to

@gamerspherenz@mastodon.social Anno 1800. You have one action each turn . It’s very quick to do but always useful. Concordia. Card-driven rondel works amazingly well giving difficult choices each time. Faiyum. Similar to Concordia but it focuses on hand management as where you discard your cards after playing them may mean you don’t get to see that card again for a long time. Unless you can afford to buy it back. #BoardGames #BrettSpiele #j2s

There’s a Darkness on the Edge of t’Moor. But it was Raphael’s cave obliging him to draw a card, the third winter card that ended it all. Had he got to play the card he intended it would have been a tie. #boardgames

Currently in the process of moving servers, so here's a new #introduction I'm a full-stack developer working primarily with #python and #vue3 both at work and on hobby projects. I also write serial fiction (through a pseudonym, since there's a children's author who shares my name), play #videogames, play and design #boardgames, am relearning #piano, and otherwise spend my time on my family.

Last night's #boardgames included Lords of Waterdeep. I'd long been put off this as it looked complicated, but it's really not: place your agent figures, take resources, cash them in to complete quests and get points. I came second out of four, thanks in part to a lucky quest card that exactly matched the rare purple resources I'd collected for no good reason other than they might come in handy. Overall, an efficiency exercise with some fun interaction. Not overly taxing, so would play again.

An #introduction! I am evilchili (he/him). For 35 years I worked in the tech industry. Now I'm on my New Game+. I make #resin dice. I've been running a #dnd game for the same group every two weeks for 9 years. I homebrew relentlessly, and never met a system I didn't want to tinker with. I will be posting about all that plus #crafting, #woodworking, #boardgames, #videohames, and whatever else I spend my free time on. I might even write some #software now that I don't have to.

Dear Fediverse, can you please help me find the overlap between these three groups? A: people willing and eager to wear a respirator indoors B: people interested in board games C: people living in or close to berlin I can't be the only one, right? Boosts would be highly appreciated, maybe you know someone who knows someone...? Thank you! #stillmasking #maskup #wearamask #covidisnotover #longcovid #chronicillness #berlin #boardgames #brettspiel #venndiagram
